With a wealth of experience operating clean fill sites and resource recovery facilities in the region, Balfour has transformed the way waste products are handled and processed.

Nick oversees the day-to-day operations of BMI Group as an experienced senior executive with more than 25 years of national, international, and cross industry experience working in board, executive and management roles. He has proven expertise in governance, risk management, business development due diligence and corporate head office functions. Prior to joining BMI in 2018, Nick has held senior positions within the industrial and waste management industries.

Justin joined BMI Group in 2023 bringing 16 years of experience from the waste industry where he has operated in various state and national operational and commercial roles across multiple market segments. Key achievements have been in strategic and commercial advice, implementing business improvement initiatives and delivering growth opportunities.

Mark has 25 years of experience in the waste industry focusing on waste disposal and resource recovery and joined BMI Group in 2011. Mark has continued to focus on developing waste infrastructure for the group including transfer stations, improving recycling capabilities and develop landfill facilities. Commencing in the contaminated land investigation and remediation industry Marks interest shifted to the development of landfills implementing key measures to develop Queensland’s largest construction and demolition waste landfill at New Chum. Mark currently sits on the executive Waste and Recycling Industry Queensland (WRIQ) in the capacity of Vice President.

AJ having joined the BMI Group team in 2014 is responsible for overseeing the Resource Recovery site operations where he manages an extensive fleet of plant and equipment. AJs success has been attributed to his established relationships within the Construction and Waste industries and proven experience in plant acquisitions, civil works, and project delivery installations. Prior to commencing with BMI, AJ held roles in workshop operations and supervisory positions within the Civil and Construction industries.

Peta has over 14 years’ experience in the environmental management of heavy industry operations and development. During this period, she has worked closely with industry and authorities in the interpretation and application of environmental obligations, as well as involvement in the development of regulations and industry codes, including hazardous waste re-use. Peta oversees the health and safety and environmental team providing a high level of technical experience in the practical aspects of environmental concerns including noise, water pollution, effluent, hazardous waste and chemicals, contaminated land, and air pollution.

Sandra has over 25 years of sales and marketing management experience operating across the construction, mining, infrastructure and utilities, transport logistics and government market segments at both state and national levels. Sandra brings to the team excellent relationship building skills, business development and account management skills. Since joining BMI in 2018, Sandra is responsible for growing the C&D, C&I, Contaminated soil, and regulated waste markets working with customers to provide positive customer service outcomes.

Jason has over 24 years operating in mines and quarry operations in Queensland specialising in open pit hard rock and sand quarries. Since joining BMI in 2014 Jason has worked in operational and sales roles and is the senior sales leader for aggregates and recycled products as well as providing integrated sales solutions across all waste streams and recycled products to a broad customer base with a focus on resource recovery and reuse applications.

Michael looks after the property portfolio at BMI Group. He oversees transactions, development applications and the management of the group’s tenants and assets. His previous roles in commercial real estate have positioned him nicely to manage this.
