Changes were introduced on 4 July 2024 regarding the disposal of engineered or manufactured stone. As a result of new regulations, we are managing engineered, manufactured, and natural stone panels, benchtops, and slabs as Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Waste, with this waste disposed of in landfill.
This type of waste can no longer be recycled until the End of Waste Code (EoW) for Recycled Aggregates is addressed, as it currently does not meet the new regulations. Natural stone and material with less than 1% silica cannot be identified when entering the weighbridge and will be managed as C&I Waste and disposed of in landfill until this can be resolved.
Any engineered stone loads with more than 1% silica, not mixed with other waste, have been approved as Levy Exempt Waste until 30 June 2025. All other stone that is manufactured with glass, resins, and less than 1% silica will be diverted to landfill. Enquiries can be forwarded to the Sales Team for assistance, and we recommend that you obtain an Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to assist in the review process.
